…where true hospitality and great food come together.
Bistro One46 has become a favourite meeting place for friends and family from the Southern Highlands, the NSW South Coast and beyond. Located in Kangaroo Valley, the gateway to the Shoalhaven, this modest restaurant offers genuine hospitality with simple and authentic flavours throughout the menu. Using fresh, seasonal and local produce, chef Gerald Poelzl and wife Nicole aspire to provide more than just a meal – they want you to enjoy a wonderful South Coast dining experience.
The venue has been a restaurant for over thirty years – when the grapevine sheltering the balcony was first established. Though the valley has seen many changes, Bistro One46 is still a place to share meals and create memories. Enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner beneath the grapevine and admire views of the valley escarpment in the distance, while watching passings by in the heart of the village. During cooler months, be comfortable inside by the open-fireplace – truly, a great place to dine, any time of year. It is the whole experience, not just the fresh, sumptuous meals that will have you coming back to Kangaroo Valley time and again.
Kangaroo Valley is a scenic and unique place to visit for day trips, mid-week breaks or a week long holiday. Visitors come here for relaxation, recreation and to appreciate the natural beauty of this historic South Coast hinterland. Visit Bistro One46 to experience the true feel of Kangaroo Valley: friendly and welcoming.
Bistro One46 received the Silver award for Tourism restaurant for the second year running in the 2014 South Coast Tourism Awards for Excellence. This award is not judged solely on the food served, but on the whole dining experience as well as contribution to tourism in the South Coast. They were also announced as finalists for their second year in the Savour Awards for the Restaurant Catering Association. The passion that Bistro One46 shows for the food it serves, their customers and Kangaroo Valley is energising.
